Summer 16 Reader Survey Results

A big howdy from Texas, where it is a sweltering 95 degrees at 9:30am! I hope everyone is having a wonderful June. A week ago I asked y’all to fill out a reader survey. If you didn’t get a chance to complete it, don’t worry because I will be having another one before the year’s end. As a thank you, I am giving away ebook copies of two of my books for all of my newsletter subscribers. If you aren’t a subscriber there is still time to sign-up and get a free book. Claim your free book today.

I am so excited to share the results of this survey with you and explain how it is going to influence my writing. Please let me know what you think of the changes I will be making. E-mail me.

Full Kindle’s & Bookshelves
Y’all are such a well-read group. The majority of you (39%) read thirty-one plus books a year. Wow! I’m in awe. You also enjoying reading books in print and Kindle. I will work hard to meet this need for print by making sure all of my full sized novels will be available in paperback. Currently both of my books are in eBook, print and audio (Red on the Run audio will be available around Thanksgiving).

Never read K.M. Hodge?
Haven’t read any of my work yet? There were quite a few of you who haven’t because you lack the time or the money (or both). I can help remove one of those hurdles. I provide free eBook copies to all of my Land of Hodge subscribers in exchange for an honest review on Amazon and Goodreads.  For the month of June you can get a  ebook copy of Red on the Run FREE immediately when you sign-up for my mailing list.

What do you want to read next?
While a good chunk of you are looking forward to the sequels to The Syndicate-Born Trilogy and The Book Cellar Mystery Series, the majority of you are interested in my novella idea: Letters from the Attic. I will be bumping it up in my writing schedule. The novella takes place in the 80’s. A young woman, who is visiting her grandmother over summer break, stumbles across letters from her grandmother’s former lover–not her grandpa. By the way, all of my novella’s will take place in the past and have strong female characters.

Clean vs. Not Clean
Lastly, the majority of you don’t care if there is swearing, mild sex or the Lord’s name is used in vain. However, since 20% of you do care if the Lord’s name is used in vain I will no longer put that in my novels. My Book Cellar Mystery Series, which I write with sweet romance writer Melissa Storm, is clean. We are working to take out the swearing in Walker Texas Wife and re-release it as a clean Mystery series (no sex, no swearing, and no using the Lord’s name in vain). The Syndicate-Born Trilogy does have swearing and some sexual content, but I will not be using the Lord’s name in vain for books 2 & 3. I hope this meets the needs of my varied group of readers.

Please, let me know what you think of this change.

What are you reading?
Thank you for sharing the names of some of the authors that you enjoy reading. I now have a few suggestions to add to my own kindle, which is also overflowing with unread books. I feel your lack of time, pain.

THANK YOU!
